GETTING TO MONTREUX

BY TRAIN​

All major European and national trains converge to the Montreux Riviera region, connected with every half hour throughout Switzerland.

TGV LYRIA
The TGV Lyria connects many French cities to Switzerland specifically to Geneva and Lausanne.
Paris – Lausanne: 4 daily round trips. (Lausanne – Montreux -> 19 minutes)
Paris – Geneva: 8 daily round trips (Geneva – Montreux -> 1 hour)


ICE
The ICE connect Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt to Basel (Basel – Montreux -> 2h36).

EUROCITY
The EuroCity trains connects Milan or Venice to Montreux in 3 hours.

GOLDENPASS LINE
The GoldenPass Line is one of the most scenic routes of Switzerland. It links the Vaud Riviera to Lake Lucerne.

Montreux is connected to Leysin by SBB and from Aigle by rack railways.
It is also possible to travel by train from Bex to Villars.

BY CAR

Situated in the heart of Europe, the Montreux Riviera region is easily accessible by car via the Swiss motorway network. It is crossed by the A1 motorway that connects Austria to France.

SPEED LIMITS
City: 30 to 60 km / h (18-37 mph)
Out of town: 70 to 80 km / h (44-50 mph)
On Highway 100 to 120 km / h (62 to 75mph)

In Switzerland, the motorway tax sticker is necessary when taking the highway. Available at a price of CHF 40.00, it is valid until the 31st of January of the following year.

GENEVA AIRPORT
1 hour from Montreux (direct trains leaving every 30 minutes, bus, car, car transfers or private limousines) Geneva – Montreux road on Lake Geneva, beautiful panorama and magnificent views
